Meet The Team

Hilary Bucell, Lcsw

As a clinician I believe transformation is possible with knowledge, insight, and skill. In our work together I will provide psychoeducation—explaining not just what you're experiencing, but why it's happening, what you can do about it, and how to trust your own internal wisdom to guide you forward.

What is therapy like?

All individuals seeking support at Integrative Psychotherapy and Wellness will begin with an initial free 20 minute consultation. This is to ensure that IPW is indeed a skillful fit for treating their presenting difficulties and future goals. If IPW seems like an appropriate match, then all persons will complete an initial intake. Next, an individualized treatment plan is set based on this initial evaluation and can include weekly individual or couples sessions, group therapy, and/or skills-based coaching. Therapy will differ from person to person because each individual has differing needs. Generally speaking though, most individual clients will begin with weekly sessions.

Does my location matter?

Yes. Currently we can only provide psychotherapy to clients located in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Consultation and select skills training courses are available to individuals located across the United States and internationally.

Do you take insurance?

Integrative Psychotherapy and Wellness is an out-of-network (OON) provider. We can provide superbills (itemized receipts) each month that you may submit to your insurance provider that contain all information needed for eligible reimbursement. Many insurance plans do provide out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy sessions. Prior to beginning treatment we highly recommend verifying your benefits. For further assistance with verifying your benefits, please see here

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes. Each provider at Integrative Psychotherapy and Wellness reserves a certain number of reduced fee slots for those who need them. Our sliding scale fees begin at $150 for individual therapy sessions. Should you need greater financial assistance, please visit Open Path Collective to access clinicians providing services ranging from $30-$70 per session.

How long does therapy last?

Most clients are seen weekly for at least ten months to a year, after which frequency and duration may vary depending on needs, client goals, and clinician discernment. Participation in groups, skills training and other treatments, such as select trauma therapies, vary in length and time.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person?

Yes! Current research shows that online or teletherapy is just as effective as in-person care for treating a wide range of mental health conditions.

Will my therapist be able to understand me?

Although your therapist may not share your exact life experiences or identities, all therapists at Integrative Psychotherapy and Wellness strive to provide culturally affirming care. IPW prides itself on clinicians engaging in ongoing professional education and opportunities for supported personal inquiry— ensuring that we are indeed a space where all chosen identities and lifestyles are held with dignity and care, while viewed through intersectional and anti-oppressive frameworks.
